Queen's Day

Here in Holland they have a very nice holiday called Queen's Day, and is dedicated to the birthday of the former queen. The celebration takes place the 30th of April (I am a bit late with the pictures because of problems with my computer), this is not the real birthday of Queen Beatrix (actual queen of Holland) but she decided to keep her mother's birthday for the holiday because Queen Beatrix's birthday is January 31, which is a very cold time of the year in order to celebrate the events that are outdoor. This day, people wear orange or white blue and red in order to honor the queen and the country. Every town has their own ways of celebrating, and each year the queen visits one town with her family in order to celebrate with the people. Amsterdam has a huge celebration, there's food and beverages everywhere, rivers of people walking, boats with loud music and people, stages with artists performing, and well is just a big party the entire day. I had the joy of going to Amsterdam for the second time this year, and I have to say I loved it and the company was great! I decided to go with my camera in order to take some photos and share them with all of you, I really hope you all enjoy them and get a little notion of that great holiday here in Holland :)
