Batalla de las Flores (Flower Battle)

During the days that I was in Valencia, I had the opportunity to see a nice event, which is called La Batalla de las Flores (in english: Battle of flowers). The event starts with a parade of horses with their riders in costumes and flower floats with girls and women in costumes as well and holding rackets. Once all the flower floats pass and they give the prices to the winners, the flower floats make another circle but this time they are being attacked by the public, who are throwing flowers at them. The girls and women on the flower floats, have their rackets to protect their faces against the flowers and also to strike back at the public, hence why it is named: battle of flowers. Once the parade is finished, a lot of spectators (specially kids) go in the field to fight with the flowers that are on the floor.
